Notes:
Routine x-rays of the lesion and chest were always done. Most of the lesions were treated in the pre-MTI scan era and this was not done. A CT scan was done in more recent cases. ( of lesion and slices of lung for pulmonary mets.)
Blood tests for Alp. Phos serum Calcium was also done ( we diagnosed 2 patathyroid hormones pre3senting as a metaphyseal lytic lesion)
A biopsy was done to confirm the diagnosis before the definitive operation was undertaken. We did not make use of inter-operative frozen sections.
