Jaco Blanckenberg is a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CRESTO. He is involved in several bibliometric research projects of the DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence for Scientometrics and STI Policy (SciSTIP). He obtained his PhD in theoretical physics at Stellenbosch University in 2015 with his dissertation on the Skyrme Model Description of Heavy Baryons with Strangeness. Since then, he joined the team at CREST where he has been providing data analysis support to staff and students while also exploring innovative scientometrics techniques in the areas of citation profiling, author disambiguation, field classification and bibliometric indicators.
