Biography
Mrs Lactitia Tshitwamulomoni is a Director responsible for Wildlife Economy Programme at the National Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment and has more than 20 years of working experience in the biodiversity and conservation sector ranging from policy, strategy, and guidelines development and implementation, to awareness raising campaigns and capacity building. She is also actively involved in the international agenda on biodiversity conservation, and sustainable use of biodiversity. She served as a Co-Chair of the Informal Advisory Group on Digital Sequence Information on Genetic Resources under the Convention on Biological Diversity, until its adoption as a package deal for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. She is currently managing the implementation of the Game Meat Strategy for South Africa; the Wildlife Economy Sustainability Standards and Voluntary-Market Based Certification Scheme; and the National Game Donation/Custodianship Policy Framework as part of the National Biodiversity Economy Strategy and its implementation plan called Biodiversity Operation Phakisa. She is an Environmentalist by profession, and very passionate about empowerment of rural communities on general environmental issues.
