Dr Cyrie Sendashonga is an accomplished biologist, holding a Ph.D. Zoology (Free University of Brussels), with a career of more than 25 years experience in science-policy interface in international environmental governance. Her career is encompassing both research and development perspectives, focused on natural resources management. Cyrie is the former Global Director of the Policy and Programme Group at IUCN, Switzerland.
Previously she served as head of the Biosafety Programme at the Secretariat of the CBD, Canada and as Regional Coordinator for the Central Africa Regional Office at CIFOR, Cameroon among other roles. She is now the Ad-interim Director of LHI (Luc Hoffmann Institute) which aspires to be the world's greatest facilitator for innovation and revolutionary change in order to preserve biodiversity, the cornerstone of all life on Earth.
