Research Fellow
Dr Tariro Kamuti holds a joint PhD in Geography from the Vrije University Amsterdam, The Netherlands and the University of the Free State, South Africa. He is a Research Fellow with the Global Risk Governance Programme at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He is also a Research Fellow of the Earth System Governance, with interest in the Taskforce on Governance of Nature and Biodiversity.
Tariro is also a scholar of the Climate Social Science Network (CSSN), an international network of scholars headquartered at the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society, United States of America. Tariro is a member of the Society of South African Geographers, the Regional Studies Association, United Kingdom, and the International Society of Sustainability Professionals, United States of America.
His research interests are broadly around climate change, land and environmental policy with particular focus on governance issues surrounding sustainable utilisation of natural resources, and the social dimensions of nature conservation. He is currently working on game farming/wildlife ranching and wildlife policy in South Africa.
