Mr Ali Kaka is the Wildlife Sector Advisor to the Minister in the Kenya Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.
He is currently in his second terms as Regional Councillor for Africa on the IUCN Council (2021-2025). During his first term (2017-2021), he also served as the IUCN Vice President.
Ali has also been the Regional Director for the IUCN Eastern and Southern Africa and and the Executive Director of the East Africa Wildlife Society (EAWLS).
He is an accomplished expert in organisational leadership, protected area management and effectiveness, sustainable tourism, community natural resource management, and provides mentorship and advisory roles to several international boards and panels.
