William D. Marandu is an Assistant Lecturer at the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka (CAWM). He holds a Master Degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Economics from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) through a scholarship provided by the FORVAC Project. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) in Dodoma,Tanzania. Additionally, he has an Advanced Diploma in Wildlife Management from the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka (CAWM) through a scholarship provided by the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) Scholarship.
He coordinated the Project of Natural Resource Management for Local Economy Development (NRMLED) in Buhigwe District, Kigoma Region (2015-2018) under theTanzania-Belgium Partnership. Also, he was a focal person for the Project of Malagarasi riverbank conservation in Kigoma under Tuungane Nature Conservancy (TNC) from 2021 to 2022. Mr. William D. Marandu was the acting head of the Department for Natural Resource and Environmental Conservation in Buhigwe District, Kigoma Region (2021-2022).
He has experience in natural resource valuation, trading natural resource products, and understanding their impact on the environment. He also has experience in project planning and management, project monitoring and evaluation, village land use planning, community-based conservation, and participatory forest resource assessment.
