Sarah Whitehead holds a BScAgric in Plant and Soil Sciences from Stellenbosch University, where she also pursued electives in Wildlife Management and Entomology. Currently, she is a candidate for a Master’s Degree at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest in Hungary. Sarah specializes in conservation agriculture, focusing on developing sustainable agricultural systems to support the African economy. She is passionate about preserving indigenous knowledge systems related to the cultivation and conservation of indigenous ethnobotanical plants. Her life mission is to advance the principles of the One Health Concept by restoring ecosystems, supporting sustainable farming, and improving the health of humans and animals.
Sarah is currently collaborating with AWEI to produce a Policy Brief addressing the need for effective and efficient veterinary and abattoir services in the South African game meat industry.
