Cathy is a graduate from the doctoral programme at the Centre for Higher and Adult Education at Stellenbosch University where she has been a research associate since 2015. She has a long career in leadership within the technical and vocational education sector in South Africa, an area she also explored during her doctoral and subsequent work. She was also an external moderator at Umalusi and still compiles two chapters of the national report. Cathy also does language editing of academic texts and supervises and mentors students busy with their post-graduate studies. She is helping to launch a new post-school academic journal, JOVACET.
