The core focus of the Centre for Sustainability Transitions (CST) is to contribute to building sustainable and just futures.

We investigate the intricate dynamics of sustainability transitions and transformation through a multifaceted approach that encompasses education, research, and engagements across the science-policy-practice interface. We do so by focusing on five core research themes:

Knowledge
co-production

Social-ecological
resilience

Transformative
futures thinking

Finance and
resource flows

Political economy
and development

By exploring these themes, we aim to inform and address sustainability challenges, transitions, and transformations, within the water, food, climate, urban, conservation, coastal, and marine nexus’, at local, national, regional, and global levels.
