Maphuti Maloba

Profile

Maphuti Maloba is deeply engaged in research pioneering sustainable infrastructure development and fostering equitable, energy-efficient societies across the SADC region. Her work delves into the intricacies of enhancing township development through the prism of sustainable land use practices, just energy transitions, and the integration of smart infrastructure solutions. Central to her endeavours is the alignment with SPLUMA principles, urban design ethos, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is accomplished by exploring and using complexity and systems modelling, governance, decoupling, and resource flow practices.

With an Honors degree in Town and Regional Planning from the University of Pretoria, Maphuti is driven by a fervent commitment to address pressing social and urban challenges, seeking to catalyse meaningful change and bridge developmental divides through her multifaceted projects. The demand for just social and urban transitions, linked to development across borders, remains high and she is eager to engage in numerous projects addressing this need and aiming to bridge the gap.
