Research, teaching and learning within the political economy and development research theme is on the forefront of advancing research initiatives geared towards catalysing the Just Energy Transition (JET) across South Africa and the broader African continent.
By collaborating closely with stakeholders within the public and private sectors, as well as government and non-governmental organisations, we strive to influence policy, governance and inclusivity. Through robust partnerships with local, national, regional and international stakeholders, we develop actionable analysis and solutions for energy sector reform, governance mechanisms within the JET, by addressing social justice, scrutinising energy policies, and advocating for institutional change.
