Kate Boswell

Profile

Kate Boswell has a background in media and design. She has worked on advertising campaigns, produced editorial content, and consulted on interior projects. Her passion for media and design prompted her to consider more sustainable cycles of production and consumption, alongside an interest in city spaces as contested habitats. Art-science collaborations suggest new ways to think about shared urban environments as complex adaptive systems. Following this approach, Kate’s Master’s research explores a relational revisioning of human connections to place, other people, and other species while living as technological creatures in a socially and ecologically co-constituted urban context. Kate has a Social Science degree in Sociology and Gender Studies from the University of Cape Town and a Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development from the Centre for Sustainability Transitions at Stellenbosch University.
