Profile

Dr Sibongangani Khonelihle Mngomezulu’s academic credentials include a PhD in Construction Management, a MSc in Construction Management (cum laude), a BHons degree in Human Settlement Development, and a NDip in Civil Engineering. She has over seven years’ experience in the academic space of the University of South Africa (UNISA) and Nelson Mandela University, where she held various roles. She has contributed to a wide range of courses on construction materials, research, water engineering, and property developments. In addition to her lecturing experience, she is a part-time policy analyst and researcher under the Property Practitioner Regulatory Authority (PPRA). Her duties include leading the research team and conducting research studies.

She recently joined the Centre for Sustainability Transitions as a full-time postdoctoral fellow under the SARChI Chair in Urban Governance and Energy in Africa. Among her responsibilities are communicating with external universities involved in the project and contributing to case studies on urban innovation.

Her professional affiliations include membership of the Institution of Human Settlement Practitioners South Africa (IHSP-SA), the South African Council for Educators (SACE), and the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE).
