  • ‘Anthropocene Dialogues’ Series explores the Future of Food

    On 16 May, the Centre for Complex Systems in Transition hosted a talk with Southern African Food Lab director Dr. Scott Drimie and CST researcher Dr. Laura Pereira, exploring these key questions through a recent publication, The Future of Food 2015-2030: four scenarios examining possible futures of the food system in South Africa.

  • Transdisciplinary Research: Science with Society

    START and partners organized two workshops to strengthen capacity in the development, use, and evaluation of TD approaches. The introductory training consisting of two back-to-back workshops and was organized as an International Social Sciences Council (ISSC) activity, convened by START and the Centre for Complex Systems in Transition at Stellenbosch University in partnership with the Transdisciplinary Lab at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

In his talk Fiormonti explained the problem with this economic model, and then explored what an alternative economic system could look like, which he has termed the Wellbeing Economy.
