Extended Curriculum Programmes

An extended curriculum programme (ECP)  entails one extra year of study. Except for BAgric in Agricultural Production and Management: Elsenburg, all the programmes that the Faculty of AgriSciences offers are also available as extended curriculum programmes.

The Faculty has two types of extended curriculum programmes:

  • If you study the BAgric in Agribusiness Management or the BScAgric in Agricultural Economic Analysis and Management, the workload of the first academic year is spread over two years. All prescribed modules for these two years must be passed to gain admission to the second year of the mainstream programme.
  • In all the other programmes, the ECP entails an extra year of study, taking foundation modules before you start with your mainstream modules.

For more on the Faculty's extended curriculum programmes – previously called extended degree programmes (EDPs) – see our Faculty Calendar page 14.
