BCom (Management Sciences) (Extended Curriculum Programme)
Minimum admission requirements
About the programme
The extended curriculum programme (ECP) aims to provide students with important skills and knowledge to learn and succeed at university. The programme adds value to – and builds on – students’ talents and strengths to realise their intellectual, career and personal aspirations.
How does it work?
The curriculum of the mainstream BCom (Management Sciences) programme takes three years to complete. The programme's curriculum is extended by offering the first-year core modules over two years.
In the first year of study, you cover some of the curriculum's first-year modules plus additional preparatory modules. The preparatory modules strengthen your academic foundation. Students are therefore required to pass these preparatory modules before proceeding to the following year of study.
The rest of the first-year modules are offered in the second year of study. After this year, you have completed the first year of the mainstream BCom (Management Sciences) curriculum. You can now handle the workload of the following years with confidence and may proceed with the mainstream second- and third-year curriculum.
After four years of study, students who complete this programme successfully obtain a full and equal BCom (Management Sciences) degree.
