LABORATORY
A collaboration of two staff members are responsible for the wellbeing of all blood samples and investigations performed in the KID CRU research unit. Kurt Smith and Mornay Isaacs are key players in this division, maintaining a strict efficacy as the units Lab Technicians.
The research at KID CRU comprises of multiple studies, which means an array of samples are prepared and shipped every day from the lab. The lab is equipped with state of the art equipment for preparing these samples and there is also a -70 freezer for storage. The KID CRU lab also works closely with labs from the Stellenbosch University medical campus.
