Research Fellow
Mr Michael 't Sas-Rolfes is an accomplished conservation economist. Currently, he is a PhD Candidate at the School of Geography and the Environment, Oxford University. He has more than three decades of widespread experience in land and species conservation, with a strong focus on the role of market-based approaches, global policy, application of economic analysis, business principles, innovative approaches to financing and managing both public and private protected areas. Michael has worked across sectors in Southern Africa and internationally as a practitioner, researcher, and consultant.
As an AWEI Research Fellow, Michael is producing and presenting academic papers, and participating in webinars and media interviews on wildlife economy issues.
