Libertas scores against Eendrag
On Friday new Steinhoff Summer League hockey champions will be crowned.
Oud-Studente takes on Aristea in the women’s final. The match will start at 20:35. Last year the champions were Bloemhof. In the men’s final it is Simonsberg against Libertas. Action starts at 21:10. Helderberg won the men’s tournament last year.
Aristea is on a winning streak of late. The team won the first year’s tournament last weekend. The battle between Aristea and Oud-Studente has all the right ingredients to be an epic battle. Neither team has lost a match and while Aristea has conceded only two goals in seven matches, Oud-Studente has conceded none. Both teams are undefeated and won six of their seven matches. The draw was the previous time that they played against each other in the tournament.
Simonsberg has played in the final in 2013. Libertas has won six of its seven matches and conceded only one goal. Simonsberg won five of seven matches.
If teams draw there will have a “show-down” directly after the match. Five players from each team will participate. It will be a sudden death scenario. In other play-off matches – not including the final – there will be no shoot-outs, but team with highest ranking on logs will be the winner.
