The CGA team is always at the ready to share our knowledge. And it was specifically fulfilling to teach our Introduction to Earth Observation short course in October and November 2022 as part of the NEOFrontiers project titled Development of New Hyperspectral Capabilities across Aquatic, Atmospheric and Terrestrial Domains (HyperCAAT) in partnership with the CSIR, UCT and SAEON). A big thanks to the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) and the National Research Fund (NRF) for funding this effort.
And congratulations to all the students who completed the course! May what you have learned serve you well in future. One of our students had the following to say: “I would firstly like to express my sincerest gratitude for opening and assisting me with the opportunity to enroll in this short course. Words fail me, as I have learned so much and did work that has benefited me. This includes the use of various software programs such as ENVI and Arc GIS Pro. The short course was incredibly interesting, looking at land cover detection, and also challenged and pushed me to be more critical and analytical. The course added to my skill set but also allowed me to polish what I already know. I am grateful…that I have done the course and completed it.”
