Story maps
A story map is a web map which includes content and supporting information making a story map a standalone resource. Maps, legends, text, photos, and videos are integrated to provide functionality such as swipe, pop-ups, and time sliders, that helps users explore this content.
Maps for books
Maps for books and book chapters have specific format requirements, such as colour, dimension, file format and size, which is stipulated by the publisher.
Report maps
Maps for reports often allow for more striking symbology, which may also be customised to comply with a company’s corporate identity (CID). These maps are created to fit within a standard A4 format, depending on the data these may also be full page maps. [...]
Journal maps
Maps for journals have specific format requirements, such as colour, dimension, file format and size, which is stipulated by the publisher. As journals usually have a limit on the number of figures allowed in an article, maps can be combined along with other related data such as graphs to form one cohesive figure. [...]
The cost of a map largely depends on what data preparation is required, and how complex and analysis-heavy it is. We usually quote each project individually, depending on the needs of the client.
A basic study area map will take roughly three hours, including two reverts. Our rates are R 600 per hour with a 25% discount if payment is made via an internal Stellenbosch University cost point.
