James completed his BSc Geo-informatics degree in 2018, followed by a Geo-informatics Honours degree in 2019. His honours project involved the use of time-series Sentinel-1 imagery to automatically detect settlement expansion in the Cape Town area. Thereafter, James worked as a Java software developer at Peralex Electronics in Bergvliet. He then decided to return to his real passion, GIS-related work, joining the CGA in May 2021. Currently, he is working on a climate modelling project, as well as general GIS script creation and maintenance. During his free time James enjoys being outside – either playing tennis, soccer, or hiking
