Jessica has always had an interest in geography and a deep-seated passion for the environment, regularly volunteering for both local and international environmental organisations, and spending as much of her free time in nature and the outdoors. Her career path has taken various turns, starting with Hotel Management and thereafter Herbalism and Nutrition studies; working seven years in the retail industry; assisting in opening branches of a health and wellness retail store in Cape Town and Johannesburg and working on a small sustainability module for this company. During the last three years of her career in retail management, she completed her BA in Environmental Management through UNISA, and soon after began an internship at the CGA. She was offered a full-time position as a GIS Operator and the CGA Social Media Coordinator in late 2016. Jessica especially enjoys the cartography aspect of her work, which she feels adds a creative flair to this field of science.
