Zahn Münch completed a BSc (Chemistry and Biochemistry, 1983) as well as a MSc (GIS, 2004) at the University of Stellenbosch. In the twenty years between these degrees she worked as a computer programmer where programming for a TB research project brought her into contact with GIS. Zahn worked as a GIS consultant in the geohydrology industry until 2009, after which she joined Stellenbosch University as a lecturer in GeoInformation Technology (GIT). Zahn is also currently busy with her PhD, which looks at spatial modelling using remote sensing and GIS. When not working, you will find her on the mountain – running or cycling.
