French business school SKEMA and Stellenbosch University (SU) have joined forces to open a SKEMA campus in Stellenbosch. This will be SKEMA’s seventh campus globally. The partnership, which was officially launched on 31 January 2020, is set to significantly contribute to achieving the objectives of SU’s internationalisation strategy.

Semester and summer school opportunities

Every year, about 300 Matie students participate in Study Abroad programmes at Stellenbosch University (SU) partner institutions across the world. Processing their applications and placing them at institutions abroad is quite a responsibility, which falls to two SU International coordinators responsible for summer schools and longer exchanges respectively. Sarah van der Westhuizen, programme coordinator: semester mobility, has given us greater insight in the processes SU International follows to provide students with an international experience.

Stellenbosch University (SU) offers Matie students a variety of international opportunities, such as semester exchanges and winter/summer schools abroad. Each year, about 300 students are provided with the opportunity to go on short study-abroad experiences at partner universities across the globe. There, they experience new learning environments and expand their knowledge in their area of study, and they are exposed to a different culture altogether.
