Save the Date: SU Japanese Language Course Offer in 2025


In 2025, Stellenbosch University (SU) Japan Centre will once again partner with the Japanese Language Club of South Africa to offer Japanese language courses to the SU community and broader public.

The provisional framework for 2025 is as follows:

N5 – A Intake

Commences: March
Thursdays, 18h00-20h00

A beginner-level course introducing essential Japanese grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills.

Perfect for complete beginners.

The course runs over 25 weeks.

Entry requirement: None


N5 – B Intake (Potential)

Commences: June
Thursdays, 18h00-20h00

A beginner-level course introducing essential Japanese grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills.

Perfect for complete beginners.

The course runs over 25 weeks.


N4 A (Full Course)

Commences: February
Saturdays, 09h00-11h00

An intermediate course exploring more complex grammar and language use. Emphasis on reading comprehension and conversational fluency.

Entry requirement: Placement test.

The course runs over 40 weeks.


N4 B (N3 Preparatory)

Duration: 1 February – 8 March
Saturdays, 12h00-14h00

An intensive bridge course designed to prepare students for advanced-level Japanese (N3).

Entry requirement: Placement test.

The course runs over 6 weeks.


N3

Commences: 18 March
Tuesdays, 18h00-20h00

An advanced course delving into intricate grammar, nuanced expressions, and real-world application of Japanese.

Entry requirement: Placement test.

The course runs over 40 weeks.
