The Joint Organising Committee invites proposals from academics and researchers, students, university administrators, practitioners, representatives from government and research funding institutions, and stakeholders from industry and business.

The goal of the Forum is three-fold: (1) To share research interests, achievements and perspectives; (2) To exchange insight on innovation and best practice in research, education and training; and (3) To explore possibilities for collaboration.
We invite you to explore the main conference theme, considering the following sub-themes:
- Health and wellbeing.
- Topics can relate to: medical science; public health; water, energy, food and urban systems; biodiversity; sports; arts; culture; education; transportation and logistics; infrastructure; agriculture; risk mitigation and management; policy and governance; engineering; the natural environment.
- Social justice and development.
- Topics can relate to: just energy transitions; food security; water security; ecology; climate action; migration; citizenship; addressing inequality; human security; policy and governance; decent work and economic growth; economic systems; diversity; peace, justice and institutions; global governance.
- Systems and technologies for the future.
- Topics can relate to: climate studies; data and computational thinking; inclusive and pro-poor digitalisation; privacy protection and ICT industry; information systems; economics and business management systems; engineering; industry, innovation and infrastructure; sustainable cities and communities; governance of the global commons.
Contributions are invited for the following formats:
- Oral presentations
- Poster presentations
- Panel sessions
- Networking sessions
Paper and Poster Presentations
Proposals should be 300-400 words in length and include:
- Title of paper/presentation
- Proposed sub-theme
- Presenter(s) details: Name, institutional affiliation, email address(es)
- Outline of presentation specifying
- Nature of existing of proposed research/project
- How it relates to the goals of the SAJU Forum;
- How you seek to further collaboration in your area.
Panel and networking sessions
Panel sessions will comprise 4-5 participants. Sessions will be themed around a specific topic (e.g. collaboration opportunities in student training; best practice and innovation in climate action; establishing partnerships in funding and training resources; or the science-policy interface). Sessions should explore how to deepen collaboration and concrete ways of achieving this.
Networking sessions will comprise 4-5 representatives from different sectors (i.e. academia and research, industry, government/public policy institutions and business). These sessions will aim to develop recommendations for multi-stakeholder collaboration that furthers the goals of the SAJU Forum and will identify concrete steps towards implementation.
Proposals should be 300-400 words in length and should detail:
- Title of panel or networking session
- Proposed sub-theme
- Objective(s) and proposed content of the session; and
- Names, affiliations and email addresses of panellists or networking participants.
