Dr David Plowright
Extraordinary and Emeritus Professors, and Research AssociatesDr David Plowright is an experienced lecturer, researcher, programme director, supervisor and examiner at masters and doctoral levels. He is an independent research consultant and for 15 years has worked as a consultant doctoral supervisor for the Open University, UK. He holds the position of research associate at the Centre for Higher and Adult Education at Stellenbosch University, where he regularly presents short courses on research methodology based on his brain-child, the FraIM, Frameworks for an Integrated Methodology (2011, SAGE). David's methodological perspective also draws on his recent publication, Charles Sanders Peirce, Pragmatism and Education (Springer, 2016). He is currently writing his next book: Challenging the Myths of Methodology: Re-conceptualising Social and Educational Research, to be published in 2019 by Palgrave Macmillan. David now spends his time between South Africa and the UK, enjoying the benefits that both can offer.
