A unique username is allocated to each person and gives you access to electronic resources, e-mail and internet at Stellenbosch University. Student usernames are automatically allocated on enrolment, but staff usernames require an application process.


All new staff members should contact their departmental secretary to complete the application for this service.
The steps are as follow: 
1.       The role must be confirmed as the user should already have a US Number assigned to them.  E-mail HR for role information.​
2.       If the user already has a role and US number please proceed to step 3 – if not, you will have already received the correct procedure from your communication with HR to have them created.
3.       Follow this LINK to create a username for the new staff. 
4.       After the username has been created please log a call for a profile setup on the PC/Laptop they will be using.

Pensioners payment can be done via EFT or Card Payment at Administration A on Stellenbosch campus or at Tygerberg cashiers.


After a username is registered, a profile is created on the desktop or laptop, network and internet access is granted according to role and e-mail and central print management is configured.

Your username has to be reactivated annually by 31 March. You will receive e-mails from February each year for reactivation. The username must be reactivated prior to the cut-off date.
Browse to Stellenbosch University User - Administration system. Log in with your user name and password. Select Reactivate usernames for the relevant year and follow the instructions on the web page.

The cost of reactivation per year is
R332-00 for permanent SU staff*
R477-00 for pensioners (if paid at the cashiers or EFT payment)

The cost for secondary usernames and shared mailboxes is R332-00
