Assessment of Doctoral Supervision among Faculty Members at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria: A Factor Analysis Model Approach
Capstone assignment abstract:

Doctoral education is the highest standard of education worldwide. Since the main objective of the doctoral education is to improve the development of the knowledge products needed to promote development as well as replace ageing teaching workforces, the effectiveness of such level of education must be assessed in terms of the extent to which it has fulfilled this objective. Postgraduate education in Nigeria, as in other climes, entails the constellation of learning activities engaged in, in order to be able to develop relevant competencies and deeper knowledge and skills in specific subject areas after completion of a higher National Diploma and Bachelor degree. The focus of this presentation is an assessment of the doctoral supervision education at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). This presentation is concerned with certain salient issues requiring crucial consideration in order to have an overview of the processes and management of doctoral supervision among faculty members in Nigerian universities, with FUNAAB as a case study.
