Mrs Karien Connoway is a Research Assistant working predominantly in the area of science communication. Her research interests include intercultural communication, history of science, disability studies, and universally accessible information environments. She plans to commence in 2022 her PhD studies investigating 19th century scientific organisations and science communication in the Cape Colony.

Bernia Drake

Academic co-ordinator of postgraduate programmes

Mrs Bernia Drake is the Academic Co-ordinator of the CREST Postgraduate Programmes. This is a diverse role with her main responsibility being the delivery of a quality teaching & learning environment for both students and academic staff across the six postgraduate programmes. This includes the management of all student related processes from application to graduation and academic support with course planning, administration and logistics. She previously worked as programme coordinator at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Tygerberg Campus (Stellenbosch University).
