4 November 2024

We seek 20 visionary fellows from Germany and South Africa to drive change and innovation in #publicengagement via the inaugural German-South African Public Engagement Exchange (PEX) Fellowship.

PEX is a unique Fellowship programme that aims to foster leadership and innovation in public engagement among researchers and public engagement professionals in South Africa and Germany. The programme is designed for individuals interested in developing strategic leadership skills, integrating public engagement into research, and enhancing global knowledge exchange!

PEX fellows will have opportunities to connect with global peers and thought leaders, collaborate on innovative, scalable methodologies for change, co-curate an inspiring conference in Berlin (Sep 25), and launch co-designed, seed-funded international initiatives.

The first cycle of the PEX Fellowship will run from December 2024 to November 2025, and it will include a series of online trainings, seminars, peer exchange, and mentoring sessions and an in-person conference in Berlin, Germany, in September 2025.

Applications are welcome through the application form and will close on Friday, 22 November 2024.

Please consult the programme description, applicant guide, and applicant commitment for more details.

The German-South African Public Engagement Exchange is a BMBF-funded initiative based in the Public Engagement and Impact Unit of the Natural History Museum Berlin, in collaboration with the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST) at Stellenbosch University and Hasso Plattner Institute.
