Capstone assignment title:
SUPERVISION OF DOCTORAL CANDIDATES IN A NEGOTIATED AFRICAN SPACE
Capstone assignment abstract:

The assignment was approached from the position of an introspective journey. Using my experience as a post graduate supervisor at the University of South Africa, I engage with literature to reflect on, discuss and explain my understanding of the post graduate context. I ask myself several questions along this journey and while I do not necessarily reach definite answers, my understanding of the process and the context within which the process unfolds is enhanced considerably. The overlap between the student, institution and supervisor illuminates their interdependency, and I find myself wondering about the way forward. More of the same – or time to re-negotiate how I do what I do?
