In 2021, UN Secretary-General António Guterres will convene a Food Systems Summit as part of the Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The Summit aims to launch key actions to deliver progress on all 17 SDGs, each of which relies to some degree on healthier, more sustainable and equitable food systems. As part of pre- Summit processes, dialogues are being held at three various levels:
- Member State Summit Dialogues organized by national governments;
- Global Summit Dialogues which align with global events on major issues like climate, environment, health, economies and jobs, humanitarian aid and water and
- Independent Summit Dialogues which are organized by individuals.
Dr Lauren Wildschut, Ms Tikwiza Silubonde and Dr Donna Podems (CREST Research Fellow) are involved in the coding of and reporting on the Independent Dialogues. The involvement of the M&E Programme team on this project is evidence of how the Science and Technology component of CREST aligns with M&E.
