News, March 2016
The Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST) is excited to have more than six full time in-house PhD candidates registered for 2016. This is in addition to a number of other PhDs who are completing their doctorates at CREST but who live in countries around the world including Ghana and Zambia. The current group of PhDs are looking at topics ranging from the impact of research on society and the communication of environmental research to understanding factors affecting academic outputs and the success of post-graduate studies. On completion of their degrees these PhDs will make a valuable and needed contribution to the African knowledge base in science communication, science impact and evaluation, and science knowledge systems – critical factors in growing the South African and African contributions to global knowledge networks.
