On Tuesday, 1 March 2022, CREST and SciSTIP were honoured by a visit from Dr Fulufhelo Nelwamondo (CEO) and Dr Eugene Lottering (Deputy CEO: Research and Innovation Support and Advancement) of the National Research Foundation (NRF).

Prof. Johann Mouton (director of the DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence for Scientometrics and STI Policy and and professor at CREST) held formal discussions the NRF delegation about the work that CREST and SciSTIP perform, specifically in the areas of common interest with the priorities of the NRF. At the end of the meeting, a consensus was reached that the existing partnership between the NRF and SciSTIP should continue to be strengtened going forward. These discussions were continued over dinner that same evening, joined by Prof. Deresh Ramjugernath (DVC: Learning and Teaching).
