Wine scientists and winemakers as two communities: Bridging the gap through boundary spanning activities
The study explores the institutional landscapes of South African wine scientists and winemakers. The emphasis is on the knowledge transfer activities between these two groups and the factors and conditions that influence it. The study’s research questions are specifically formulated to explore the significance of collaborative research between academia and industry, open access publication and dedicated knowledge transfer platforms and events, as potential boundary spanning activities that can enhance knowledge exchange between these two communities.
