News, February 2016
Fifteen young scientists from Stellenbosch University participated in a regional FameLab heat on 18 February 2016. The event was hosted at SciSTIP (Centre of Excellence in Scientometrics and Science, Technology and Innovation Policy), who co-funded this event with the CIB (Centre for Invasion Biology). Five of the young researchers have been selected to go through to the national finals, taking place during March 2016 in Johannesburg. The South African winner will represent the country at the International FameLab finals in the UK later this year. FameLab is a global competition that challenges young researchers (21 to 35) to present their work to a general audience in just three minutes, making it as engaging and accessible as possible, but maintaining solid content and accuracy.
