Doctoral Supervisor and Doctoral Supervision: Inseparable Twins
Capstone assignment abstract:

Executive Summary The relationship between a supervisor and student is an important one. It is of vital importance and in the best interest of all parties to understand the concepts of doctoral supervisor and doctoral supervision, but more importantly to agree on the rules of engagement (contract) between the supervisor and student. This essay also reviewed literature to understand these two key constructs, their relationship and documented various styles of doctoral supervision. Given the very important role that supervisors play in doctoral studies, it is not accidental that numerous studies have been conducted in this field to better understand the nature and aspects of supervision, the roles and responsibilities of supervisors and student.
