Postdoctoral fellowship opportunity

An opportunity for two postdoctoral fellows at CREST is available for candidates in the field of monitoring and evaluation studies with a focus on the field of education. The postdoctoral fellows will be required to work as part of a team (led by Dr Lauren Wildschut) on projects on education, and education evaluation, and other relevant topics in M&E.

Requirements

The specific requirements for this position are the following:

  • A PhD received within the last five years.
  • The PhD should be in one of the following disciplines: Evaluation studies, Education, Public Management Policy studies, and Social Sciences in general.
  • Skills in advanced quantitative data analysis (e.g. regression models, cluster analysis, , social network analysis).
  • High proficiency in the latest software both for quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • A healthy interest in conducting research and analysis of M&E practices and systems in education in South Africa.
  • Proficiency in scientific writing as demonstrated by published scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.

General

The fellowships are tenable for 3 years. An annual performance review will be held, and funding for year 2 and 3 of the fellowship will depend on the satisfactory progress made during the preceding year. The fellowships will be funded by the ZENEX Foundation.
