Sarah Goodier is a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Researcher in the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST). In this role, Sarah is part of the team supporting M&E of the University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP), which is a strategic national programme implemented by the Department of Higher Education and Training and universities focused on student development, staff development and programme/curriculum development. Since June 2023, she is responsible for supporting project staff from South African universities receiving UCDP funding for collaborative projects. This entails advising on M&E plans and logic models, quality assurance of evaluation reports, M&E training and capacity building, as required for each collaborative project. Sarah also assists with the quality assurance of the UCDP institutional grants reporting.

Sarah holds an MPhil in Programme Evaluation as well as an MSc in Molecular and Cell Biology. She has also authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed articles in national and international journals, as well as a book chapter on her MPhil research which evaluated a South African global citizenship programme that worked towards developing socially responsible graduates.
