Over the last two years, our international team of researchers (South Africa and UK), have worked together with a local non-governmental organisation (NGO), to develop a school-based programme to support the wellbeing of primary school aged children (10-14 years old) in South Africa. The programme, called 4 Steps To My Future, is currently being piloted in two primary schools. The programme’s four steps aim to enhance self-esteem, promote helpful thinking, develop emotional regulation, and empower goal focused action. Parents will be involved through receiving an information leaflet on each step and how they can support their children at home.
