The International Council of Psychologists 2023 Seisoh Sukemune/Bruce Bain Encouragement of Early Career Research Award was awarded to Dr. Erinn C. Cameron. The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding early career contributions to scholarly endeavors addressing psychological issues of a universal or multinational significance. Dr. Cameron is a highly accomplished researcher whose primary focus is on climate change and women’s mental health. She is an HBNU Fogarty Global Health Fellow with Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health and a Fellow at Stellenbosch University where she works with Dr. Ashraf Kagee. She is currently conducting fieldwork on climate change, women’s mental health, and HIV. She also recently received the prestigious 2023 Dr. Sally Peterson Research Excellence Award for her first-authored paper on female incarceration and violence against women. Her research findings have garnered widespread recognition and dissemination through numerous conference presentations, multiple first-author research articles, and accolades from esteemed institutions. She holds editorial roles as Editor of the International Psychology Bulletin and The International Psychologist. Dr. Cameron’s professional service extends to her involvement as a board member for the American Psychological Association’s Division 52 and she was recently elected to the board of directors for the International Council of Psychologists.
