ACADEMIC PROFILE:
Patricia Hamilton is a Marie Curie Research Fellow in the Thomas Coram Research Unit at the UCL Social Research Institute. Her research examines contemporary parenting culture using a black feminist theoretical lens, cantering the experiences of black families. Her book, Black Mothers and Attachment Parenting, was shortlisted for the British Sociological Association’s Philip Abrams Memorial Prize in 2021. Her current project is an intersectional analysis of parenting leave policies in Britain since the 1970s.
