We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the PGDip Sustainable Development programme in 2024. This programme, offered by the Centre for Sustainability Transitions (CST) at Stellenbosch University, equips participants with the necessary tools to understand and analyse the global and local challenges our world faces.

The PGDip is an honours-level qualification (NQF 8) comprising of 8 modules, which can ideally be completed within one year. It provides transdisciplinary training in the fields of social-ecological systems and sustainability transitions and transformations. Participants will gain insights into navigating complex interconnected concepts related to food, energy, cities, and governance. While addressing critical problems is important, the programme emphasizes the exploration of solutions and pathways for transformative change.

The programme offers a diverse range of learning venues, both within and beyond the main campus of Stellenbosch University. Each module takes place at a unique venue carefully chosen to facilitate optimal engagement with the theory and practical aspects of the content. In addition to venues at Stellenbosch University, selected modules also occur at the Sustainability Institute (SI), located off the R310 Baden Powell Drive, Lynedoch, Stellenbosch.

To provide a comprehensive understanding of the PGDip programme, we will be hosting two open days. The first open day will take place in person on July 18th at the Sustainability Institute, while the second open day will be conducted online via Zoom on August 1st.
