Centre for Sustainability Transitions Hosts Annual Research Day

The CST held its annual Research Day on January 26th. The event brought together staff, students, and affiliates to share their research and engage in discussions about sustainability transitions. The day included presentations and panel discussions covering a range of topics related to resilience, governance and energy, biodiversity and conservation, and futures and seeds.

Despite the critical importance of the ocean, there has been a lack of integrated transdisciplinary ocean science to assess the impacts of ocean change on biodiversity, land, climate systems, and society.

2023: A deepening energy crisis or a turning point?

As we enter 2023, South Africa's energy system is in dire straits with a lack of certainty about leadership at state-owned utility Eskom and conflicting policies on how to address the energy crisis.
