Profile

Liebrecht graduated with a BA degree in Visual Arts (Visual Communication Design) from Stellenbosch University in 2012 and has been working as a graphic designer and illustrator over the past decade. He recently completed Stellenbosch University’s Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development and is currently enrolled as a Master’s student (MPhil in Sustainable Development) at the CST.

With a background in visual arts and a passion for sustainability transitions, Liebrecht is interested in exploring the synergies at the intersection of art and science. His MPhil research, with the working title “The Role of Art-Science Collaborations in the Co-Production of Visions of Social-Ecological Futures”, is focused on investigating the agency and contribution of artists and arts-based approaches in art-science collaborations where visions of social-ecological futures are co-produced.
