Endler Hall

The 556 seater Endler Hall is known for its excellent acoustical characteristics. It is equipped with Marcussen tracker-action organ with 44 stops, three manuals and pedal. Two Bösendorfer 280 pianos are also available. The hall is used for concerts, recordings, radio- and television broadcasts, graduation ceremonies, as well as conferences.

Fismer Hall

The Fismer Hall is suited exceptionally for a smaller audience. The hall can seat 200 people, when filled to capacity with loose chairs. Fitted with 60 fixed chairs the hall also boasts a wooden sprung floor, suitable for movement classes. The hall also boasts recording studio facilities and lighting to facilitate video recording.

Jannasch Lecture Hall

The Jannasch hall is an auditorium-style room with 180 seats. The hall is suitable for presentations, lectures and meetings and is supported by all the necessary multimedia technology.

Behrens Foyer

The foyer to the Endler hall boasts large murals by the late Larry Scully and has some marvellous views of the mountains surrounding Stellenbosch. The foyer can easily host up to 300 people.

Recording Studios

The Konservatorium building hosts state-of-the-art recording studios, equipped with the latest technology in this field. The studios are capable of professional recording, editing, mixing and film audio work.

Lecture Rooms

Two lecture halls able to accommodate 60 people at a time, supported by all the necessary multimedia technology.

Practice Studios

The Konservatorium building has three floors with 57 practice studios, 6 of which are equipped with pipe organs. These practice rooms have a high level of sound insulation and are designed to eliminate the production of standing sound waves when practicing. All practice rooms, as well as the rest of the building, are equipped with air-conditioning. We also have 6 new grand pianos for performance students to practice on, as well as three practicing studios with 2 grand pianos each for two-piano purposes.
