Jamestown Sounds (JS) was established by three people who had the vision to make a difference in the lives of children in the community through music education. In 2005 the Management Committee of Jamestown Sounds was established and in 2009 it was registered as a non-profit organisation (NPO), which strives to enrich the lives of the youth in Jamestown and Cloetesville with education and performance in music. It abides by the belief that music is a positive force that will uplift and empower the communities in Jamestown and Cloetesville that are in need of encouragement, as well as bridging the divide between various communities in Jamestown and Cloetesville. Jamestown Sounds makes sure to host music concerts annually for Jamestown and Cloetesville, in honour of the music students and their achievements, and the community that has nurtured them.
